In 1790-1848 a wave on violence swept across Latin America and Europe. Europe was left in anger due to the political views left behind in the French revolution and economic problems from the Industrial revolution. During the 15th century Spain, Portugal, and France colonized Latin America.  The people were ready to restore the countries the way they once were, before colonization, the French and Industrial revolutions had swept through. The people felt they benefited better from written constitutions, separation of powers, and natural rights. So, now it was time for war to win back the old order.

The students will be studying the revolution during the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries. To show an understanding of what they have studied and learned, they will be writing an ECR. To be able to write this Extended Constructive Response (ECR) the students will be working in a group of 4. Each student will be assigned two revolutions. They will find specific details on each revolution, report it in their answer sheet, and then share the information with the rest of the group. This should help them know all information needed for the ECR. (The ECR will be graded for a final grade of your research!!!)
